Services

Craft & Hobby Room Organization

It is near impossible to be creative in chaos!
Categorizing and organizing your supplies will make them easy to find and stop duplicate purchases (because you couldn’t find it!).

We will create the space to make your hobby time pleasurable instead of stressful.

Home & Office Organization

Piles of paper?  Crowded counter-tops and full cupboards? Bedroom closet too scary to enter?

It’s time to slay those clutter demons and bring sanity back.

Garage & Basement Organization

Contrary to popular belief, garage and basement spaces are not graveyards for discarded items!

Clearing out these spaces will bring you additional living space and an actual parking spot to keep your car cool in the summer.

About Me

I am a professional organizer specializing in Home, Hobby & Craft room organization in the Phoenix Arizona Area!

Since I was a child, I have found joy in the order of things.  I have always had the ability to see where things should be to increase functionality  and space.  We all have our own strengths and mine happens to be organization.

Assisting my clients with their individual needs and unburdening them of the weight that disorganization brings to their homes gives me great satisfaction.  It is rewarding to see relief and happiness on the faces of those I help.

My professional background is diverse and the common thread has always been my organizing skills.  Whether it was in the position of an Admin Assistant to 8 executives, training sales teams or as an Office Manager, being organized was the key.

In 2009 I had a major life change and decided it was time to do what truly makes my heart happy.  I started Clutter Happens and have not looked back since.

“It was so great to start off organized in my new home! Julie made sure everything had a place as soon as it came out of the box. Thanks for your hard work in making this house a home!”

Jessica R.

"I had a scrapbooking room that I could not find anything in and I was stressed out when friends came to scrap."

“Julie is wonderful at what she does! I had a scrapbooking room that I could not find anything in and I was stressed out when friends came to scrap. Everything has its place labeled so it can easily be found and she helped me with the layout of my room so I can use my space easier when my friends and I get together. I could not have done it without Julie’s help.”

Michelle B.

"Julie helped me whittle down 50+ cartons, boxes, bags and scattered Christmas items collected over 40+ years."

“Julie helped me whittle down 50+ cartons, boxes, bags and scattered Christmas items collected over 40+ years. Major donations to organizations (and trash bins) were made and only true and loved “keepers” were stored along with a designated box of personal ornaments for each of two adult children – their gifts for next year! Now Christmas is sorted, labeled and conveniently accessible in the garage taking up a mere fraction of its former space throughout the attic, basement, and numerous closets! I can honestly look forward to Christmas next year!”

Marty G.

"Besides organizing, I de-cluttered and got rid of things I wasn't using. It is a very liberating experience."

“I can attest that Julie does an amazing job! She helped me organize my scrapbook/craft room and it is awesome. Besides organizing, I de-cluttered and got rid of things I wasn’t using. It is a very liberating experience. Julie provides excellent tips and techniques to organize and she kept me focused on the task at hand, so I wouldn’t get overwhelmed.
She is an awesome person too! I highly recommend her!”

Jean S.

"I was so overwhelmed, I didn't know where to start. Julie jumped right in and helped me decide what I should keep and of what I could let go."

“Julie is a miracle worker! The pictures of the sewing room and craft/scrapbooking room are mine. Yes, I’ll own the mess, and I’ll give all the credit to Julie for making it look so amazing. I was so overwhelmed, I didn’t know where to start. Julie jumped right in and helped me decide what I should keep and of what I could let go. She’s amazing! She’s now moved to Phoenix and I know she’ll work her miracles there but I sure do miss her!!  My loss is your gain!”

Jeannie V.

"Julie, you helped make my house, a home."

“I had no idea what peace comes from knowing where my things are. I didn’t know the importance of giving my things a home. Little things like creating a “Good Will” box to keep in the garage, purging closets to make room for new things. Julie, you helped make my house, a home. Thank you.”

Lisa D.

"Single father of two, yeah clutter happens."

“ Single father of two, yeah clutter happens. At least until Julie attacks it. She worked wonders for me.”

Allen S.

"After the end of a long-term relationship, my home was filled with items that I no longer needed."

Robert D.

"We hired Julie to organize our entire school!"

“We hired Julie to organize our entire school! This was not an easy task but she did an amazing job. She put together ideas that we would have never thought to do. Our school has never looked or ran better! Thank you, Julie!”

Lisa C.

"Once you begin, you will want her to reorganize every room (seriously)!"

“The first emotion one feels when someone else is about to dig deep into your years of clutter (or DIS-organization, as I refer to it now) is Embarrassment. That emotion was immediately gone as soon as Julie began doing her ‘thing”, and made changes with fresh eyes, considering my own taste and function in my home. Once you begin, you will want her to reorganize every room (seriously)! She has taught me to think outside the box. She has a way of taking what you have in your home and repurposing its use. Most of all, it feels wonderful to have new, organized function, and she shares helpful tips along the way, such as how to get rid of years of clutter, yet keep (and sometimes utilize) the keepsakes that are important to you. Thank you, Julie! You are the best!”

Pat R.

Everyday moments are filled with the stress of the clutter around us.

We look at something that we know we need to tackle and shake our heads, vowing to take care of it later.

The clutter takes on a life of its’ own and becomes a weight of frustration and sometimes even shame.

It is my goal to take away that dysfunction and create a system that allows you to function well on a daily basis.

Helping you to see things in a different light will create a comfortable living environment that will be welcoming and stress-free.

FAQs

Why do I need an organizer?
My clients have various reasons for hiring an organizer.  Some are so busy in their personal lives that they need a boost to get back on track.  Many find themselves in a life transition.  Divorce, empty nesting or the loss of a loved one can be devastating and sometimes paralyzing.  Often, they are burdened with the items left behind in that transition and are too emotional to cope with sorting through it all. Others simply want a fresh start in their surroundings.
What is the process once we have set an appointment?
It is common for there to be more than one area in your home that you want help with.  I like to start in the space that will make the most difference in your daily life.  We will have a phone consultation prior to our appointment to discuss where our starting point will be for you.
What do I need to do in my space before you come to our appointment?
The answer to this is easy.  Nothing.  Yes!  That is what I said.  NOTHING!  Please fight the tendency to straighten up things before I get there.  I want to see it the way it is.  It helps me to assess what is NOT working for you.  It is common for clients to feel embarrassed or ashamed.  I encourage you to fight those emotions.  Instead, take a deep breath and pat yourself on the back for taking the first step to a new way of living.  You have already done the difficult part by asking for help.  It will be all downhill from there!
What materials should I have on hand?
A few boxes and some trash bags are all we should need to get started.  Please don’t make a shopping trip to purchase organizing containers.  I try hard to work with what you have and will make recommendations along the way if I see a need for a specific item that will help the flow of things in your home.
Do I need to be there while you are organizing?
Absolutely.   It can never be my call regarding what you should keep or let go of.  I will work side by side with you to tackle the clutter and reclaim your space.
What form of payment do you take?
I take personal checks or cash.

Today is a great day to be clutter free!
